We used it extensively on a recent hike up to Camp Muir on Mount Rainier. The voice clarity is excellent, even with the wind. We also practiced using the emergency channels and features, which gives us added confidence knowing we're prepared for the worst. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the menu system took a little getting used to, but once you figure it out, it's pretty straightforward. Overall, a great product for the price, and a definite must for hiking with a group in areas with spotty cell service.
